The CD110 Dream is the fourth entry-level commuter motorcycle from Honda after CB Twister, Dream Yuga and Dream Neo. The motorcycle is basically a restyled Dream Neo with few design changes and is aimed for raising the Honda's approach in more and more markets.
The Honda CD110 Dream follows a very simplistic approach of design, and may not appeal to those motorcyclists who love flashy graphics, muscular stance and gizmos on their ride. Nevertheless, it looks smart with a decent profile, featuring a small bikini fairing around its simple headlamp, flanked by clear lens blinkers. The side profile also looks plain with fuel tank showcasing adequate knee recesses. The rear view of the Dream Neo gels well with the overall design, with a large tail lamp. The instrument console too maintains the continuity of 'down-to-earth' manner, with a two-pod cluster showcasing speedometer and odometer on the left and fuel gauge on the right, with the tachometer being given a miss. The graphics flow well from the tank to the rear panel, without seeming to be overdone. The alloy wheels are finished in gray, but the engine is painted in black. The built and fit and finish is easily the best in class, a quality which has kept the CD110 Dream outstanding amongst its rivals, in a typical Honda fashion. Overall, the motorcycle may not turn many heads on the road, but still it is one of those motorcycles which your father may equally praise, if you do so.
Powering this 'mid-sized' motorcycle of Honda is a 109cc, 4-stroke, air cooled engine, which manages to make a decent 8.4 PS of power and 8.63 Nm of torque. The CD110 Dream emerges out as a torquey motorcycle with very light-weighted chassis and a fabulous mid range performance, which makes this motorcycle so easy to ride even on higher steep climbs. The motor is a gem which makes the full use of the smooth gear ratios of the 4-speed gearbox, though a 5-speed unit would have made it even more lovelier. The motorcycle is a perennial of refinement and it's difficult to tell whether the engine is running, if kept idle.
Handling and ride quality of CD110 Dream continues to be impressive, even with a basic set up of telescopic front forks and simple hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The chassis is light and flexible and the CD110 Dream loves to be thrown around corners. And thanks to a stress-free engine, it is not at all a tiring machine in traffic, and the punchy motor makes it an advantage over the regular 100cc commuters, once you twist the throttle on open stretches. Brakes are in perfect rhythm with other mechanicals. Fuel economy is excellent for a motorcycle of this segment, which makes it even more desirable.
Satisfying on all the aspects, the CD 110 Dream is a perfect option for those who want a frugal and reliable 110cc commuter at the price of a conventional 100cc motorcycle. Though the styling may look a bit common, but that's not the CD110 Dream's bull's eye, but where the bike perfectly hits the dart is the performance, fuel efficiency and refinement, which are the most important characters for a motorcycle for setting up a benchmark. And in those aspects, the CD110 Dream surely scores up by tons.
